ABOUT MARTY

Katharine Hepburn once claimed, ”If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun.”

So why would I pursue an acting profession when it’s fraught with never ending uncertainty? Well, that’s easy. Because when you find the thing that ignites your soul, nothing else will do, that shot of adrenaline that makes you feel so friggin alive.

It all began as a senior in high school when I played Chavaleh in Fiddler on the Roof. I had been badly bullied from 7th grade on. When I saw how my performance moved my peers to tears, rather than being ashamed of my uniqueness as a left-handed redhead minority, it gave me the permission I needed to unleash my talents - the best revenge!

Now, between endless FaceTime calls from my “adult” children, I am unstoppable. I AM AN OUTLIER, that person who skips down her own path and shakes it up.

I am naturally high energy aka Party Marty (no espresso necessary). I have a gift for improv, sardonic language, and revealing the hidden vulnerability beneath a strong exterior. I embrace my types: the Wife of a Cop who holds her family together, the Suburban Housewife who is repressed and religious but yearns to let go, the Blue Collar Waitress who is street smart, funny as hell and gives great advice or the Edgy Rule-Breaking Mom who is always looking for the next thrill.

I’m also wild about screenwriting and have a dramedy in pre-production. It deals with the relationships that occur between patients who are diagnosed with cancer and the humanity and laughter that arise from that circle. It’s titled DFFs (Dana Farber Friends).

But enough about me…HEY, LARRY DAVID, PICK UP THE PHONE ALREADY! I TOLD YOU, I’M WILLING TO BE YOUR WING-WOMAN. LET’S TAWK ABOUT MY EPISODE OF CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM!
